Hate Story 4 Review & Rating

The fourth part of the series, Hate Story 4 stars Urvashi Rautela in the role of Taasha, who attracts two brothers, Rajveer (Karan Wahi) and Aryan (Vivan Bhatena) into falling love with her. The plot then involves murder, blackmail and a lot of drama that happens in between as the two brothers fight over the girl.

Gulshan Grover plays the father of Rajveer and Aryan and is a very successful businessman. This movie knows its audience very well and caters to them perfectly with hot and steamy songs and bold dialogues to keep the story moving forward. Directed by Vishal Pandya, who also directed the previous two installments, this film has a very high production budget and was shot on foreign and exotic locations.

Even though there were no expectations from him, Karan Wahi gives the best performance of the lot and even excels in the emotional scenes, which other actors struggle with. Vivan Bhatena gives an over the top performance and seems out of place in the movie throughout. His dialogue delivery too is not up to the mark.

Urvashi Rautela has looked ravishing as ever but she lacks the acting chops. She needs to work more on her expressions and dialogue delivery. Gulshan Grover in the role of the father has very little screen time but acts as the comic relief and is one of the most entertaining aspects of the movie. Ihana Dhillon too looks amazing and has done a good job with her acting.

Director Vishal Pandya captures the locations beautifully but fails to get a good performance from his actors, which make the film seem like a dramatic television daily soap. Writer Milap Zaveri has written very sleazy and unintentionally funny dialogues which Vivan Bhatena just butchers with his delivery.

The music of the film is very boring other than the song Aashiq Banaaya Aapne which has been used just to lure in fans of Himesh Reshammiya’s music. The story by Sameer Arora is unnecessarily complex and fails to keep the audience engaged to the plot.
