Guptodhoner Sondhane is a quintessential adventure film revolving around a thrilling treasure hunt. History professor Subarna Sen AKA Sona Da returns Kolkata after spending a long time abroad. On returning, he meets his cousin Abir and his best friend Jhinuk.

He along with Abir and Jhinuk travels to Abir's ancestral home in the village of Manikantapur. There Abir's eccentric but learned uncle Nisinghprasad Roy had died under mysterious circumstances. He was the last one in the line of their zamindari. But, he has left some cryptic clues for his nephew. Soon, they came to know about 350-year-old Mughal treasure of Shah Jahan which is hidden somewhere in that old palace.

Now Sona Da along with his two young companions embark on a dangerous and thrilling journey to find out the Badshahi Khazana. Soon they realized, it is not only them who know about the treasure and wants to find the same. There are greedy and notorious people, who are also searching for the treasure. They won't hesitate to kill anyone to gain the treasure. Will Sonada be able to reach the treasure? Will he be able to save it from the hands of the goons?

The treasure hunt flick went on to become a superhit film which earned positive feedback from the audience and the critics at the same time.
