Goodalochana Review & Rating|
Going by the track record of amazing stories given by Sreenivasan and his son Vineeth Sreenivasan, it was not a crime to expect the same from their another branch, from Dhyan Sreenivasan. But, this particular completely lets you down. From the begining where alot of time is spent in unnecessary comedy (which you will realise only towards the end) and establishment of the characters. The movie actually has nothing substantial to point out all through the run time.
There are four aimless and jobless friends, Varun, Prakashan, Ajaz and Jamsheer, who are united by the common point of joblessness. They're looking to make some easy money and their desperation lands them in unforeseen situations. Their attempt to revoke all their stupid acts is what the movie is all about. And except for Hareesh, who evokes a few decent laughs in the Kozhikode accent is the only saving grace for the movie and sadly seems like the only best thing about the movie.
Though the Thomas Sebastian directorial carried a decent hype and also has a novel basic plot, but would have stood out with decent viewership if only the treatement was up to the mark. Thomas lacked any innovation in his narration which makes you as a viewer predict half the movie leaving nothing exciting for you to watch. He did have his moments, but barely lasted a for a few scenes. Equal responsibility for this movie to fall flat is in the hands of Dhyan, who seemed least bothered to add any interesting elements to this plot as it was already a succesful flick in Gujarati.
Verdict: Except for a few occasional laughs, the movie doesn't have anything exciting to offer. It's up to you how you plan your weekend. Maybe with something better!
