Golmaal Again Review & Rating|
The fourth part of 'Golmaal' series starring Ajay Devgn, Parineeti Chopra, Tabu etc. in the lead roles has finally hit the screens with a huge release worldwide. Thanks to the brand power of Rohit Shetty and the 'Golmaal' franchise, the movie got a record-breaking overseas release and does the movie live up to the expectations audience and trade have? Let's find out! The story begins with introducing Tabu as a person who can see and talk to spirits and she narrates a flashback which reveals that she along Ajay Devgn growing in an orphanage and parting their ways after a point of time. Then Ajay Devgn is introduced with an over-the-top action sequence that we obviously expect in a Rohit Shetty film. Ajay Devgn, Kunal Kemmu, Tusshar Kapoor and Arshad Warsi comeback to the orphanage after knowing that owner of the orphanage is expired. Soon after they see some supernatural forces doing weird things which generate lots of comedy. What happens to them and how is this supernatural ghost thing solved has to be seen on the big screen.
Coming to performances, Ajay Devgn as Gopal nails it to the T once again as a person who fears the darkness and ghosts. He got good screen time compared to others and he justifies every minute with his comedy timing and terrific screen presence. Among the bunch of actors, Tabu makes a strong impression. Though she is new to the franchise, she is at ease and that is where experience matters. Parineeti Chopra does what was supposed to do in a film like 'Golmaal Again' and we are not complaining about it. Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Mishra, and others were okay.
Technicalities wise, the film is okay and there's nothing special to mention about it. Jomon T John's cinematography is quite good as he captures various situations of the film aptly. Bunty Nagi, the editor is okay and he should have taken a little more effort to make the first half crisp as it takes a lot of time to establish the characters. Production Values of Rohit Shetty Productions and Mangal Murti Films must be appreciated as they have not compromised on the budget of the film and the film looks quite rich and vibrant. Dialogue writers Sajid-Farhad deserve a special mention as they did a fantabulous job in writing rib-tickling one-liners. Music of the film is just about okay and suits the film well.
After a debacle like 'Dilwale' Rohit Shetty bounced back hard with this film and he did what he does best 'Not Experimenting'. As everyone would expect from him, he chooses magic over logic and makes a 'No Logic' entertainer once again which you all of us are going to enjoy as we are compensated a better thing than 'Logic' which is called 'Entertainment'. Though he takes some time to set up the characters, there's no looking back since then and he provided ample entertainment till the end card. Finally, keeping logics aside, Rohit Shetty and team gave a fun-filled entertainer which is perfect masala entertainer and probably the best part of 'Golmaal' franchise.
Verdict: Go for this commercial entertainer which makes a decent watch!
