Ghare And Baire Story
Director: Mainak Bhaumik
Cast: Jisshu Sengupta as Labanya, Koel Mallick as Labanya
Although the Mainak Bhaumik directorial has borrowed the title from Rabindranath Tagore's timeless novel, the film has nothing to do with the novel. It is about a young Bengal lad Amit (Jisshu), who is currently settled in Bangalore serving in an IT company. He dreams to become free from the slavery of the IT sector and starting his career as a musician. He is secretly in love with his childhood friend Labanya (Koel), a tom-boyish girl with a formidable aura. She is a music therapist living in the neighborhood of Amit's Kolkata adobe.
In their friendship, Labanya is the dominating personality while Amit is a sweet and soft-hearted guy. Labanya too shares the same sort of feelings for Amit but she wants Amit to express his feelings first. Amit, on the other hand, fails to do the same. He believed, Labanya being a stronger and outspoken one will take the first step. Amit returns to Kolkata only to get the shocking news of Labanya getting married to an NRI of her parent's choice. Labanya is angry with Amit for not being there. Both have some complaints against each other. Will they be able to overcome all the odds and get the happy ending they deserve?
