Dil Juunglee Review & Rating|
Dil Juunglee is a story of a gym owner named Sumit, played by Saqib Saleem who joins a spoken English class as he dreams of becoming an actor and falls in love with the teacher named Koroli played by Tapsee Pannu. The two of them start dating, but break up unfortunately and go their separate ways, only to reunite years later at a wedding outside India. The two of them decide to be friends, hiding the fact that they still have feelings for each other.
Problems arise when we find out that they are dating someone else. Their friends realize their feelings and try to bring them back together. All of them then go on an unexpected adventure as confusion and hilarity ensue. The film is directed by newcomer Aleya Sen and produced by Jackky Bhagnani.
The actors uplift the movie to a whole another level, especially Tapsee Pannu, Saqib Saleem and Nidhi Singh. They bring a fresh and young feel to the film and the romantic scenes gel very well with the plot of the film. These actors have also excelled in the comedic scenes and make the most of what is given to them. But the story fails these actors as it leaves no room for a great breakthrough performance and has a lot of clichéd dialogues and scenes which might bore the audience at times.
Director Aleya Sen who has also written the movie has done a not so good job at the treatment of the script. It is filled with the same old clichés and stereotypical roles. The story too is one which we have seen in hundreds of Bollywood films before and offers nothing new. It is only the acting performances that act as the saving grace of the film. The songs come in without any context and break the structure of the film. The camerawork has been done well and the locations are captured beautifully.
Verdict: Watch this film only for the performances as the story offers nothing new.

Dil Juunglee has an interesting and new story where a man falls in love with his English teacher and starts dating her and then has a fallout with her only to meet her years later. In an era where content driven films are being appreciated by both critics and audiences, DIl Juunglee has managed to raise good expectations from it.
The comedy of the film is based on the life of young people and will attract the youth of India to the theaters as they will relate to the movie the most. Debutant Aleya Sen seems to have perfected the romantic comedy genre and the rib tickling trailers of the movie are proof of that.
