The Bengali film by will be director Rick Basu's debut venture. Actress Paoli Dam will be playing the lead with Shubh Mukherjee, Elena Kazan and Shataf Figar. The movie will deconstruct Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's classic,"Devdas" and showcase it in the female perspective. This is a tragic love story where Paoli plays Devdas's female avatar, Devi Banerjee, who, for a change, is addicted to drugs and the story will be revealed in flashbacks.
