C/o Surya Review & Rating|
There has been a decent buzz around Sundeep Kishan's bilingual drama 'C/O Surya' which has been directed by Suseenthiran of 'Ne Peru Siva' fame. Sundeep, who has been choosing interesting scripts off late has come out with a yet another entertainer which is weaved around some realistic incidents that he gets into because of his friends. Though the first half passes off with the usual entertainment and does not involve you much, the director has ensured that audience can pass it with an interesting twist to keep the movie alive. It is the second part where the movie gets intriguing and the drama unfolds. Mehreen has done a fair job with her presence which is restricted mostly to the first half.
Sundeep Kishan plays Surya, who is a happy go lucky guy passing time with his friends like any commoner we see in our daily life. He falls for Mehreen in the first sight and simultaneously, his friend played by Vikranth gets into a problem. A simple incident leads Vikranth in getting into a tiff with the local goon and things worsen when Vikranth's family gets into danger and that's where Surya and his gang of friends enter. What they do and whether they defeat the bad guy together or not forms the rest of the story.
Sundeep is at his energetic best and especially in the second half, along with Vikranth, he has delivered a commendable performance. Harish Uthaman looks menacing in his new look and is apt as the antagonist, something that he is best as always. Mehreen's act is cute and fits the bill. Other friends played by Satya and company do a decent job. Suseenthira has done a decent job as expected though the movie is lagged quite a bit in the first half. It is the second half that gets you completely into the movie. Music by D Imman is pretty and the production values are also decent.
Verdict: The movie has got what it needs to be a complete entertainer. Might be a little dragging in the beginning, but it gets going with some really interesting twists and turns. Worth for a weekend watch!
