Chhatrapati is an Indian Telugu language movie directed by ace director S. S. Rajamouli. The movie stars Young Rebel Star Prabhas in the lead role. Shriya Saran is the lead lady in this movie. Chhatrapati is produced by Sai Prasad (Thatha) on Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra banner.
The movie is distributed by Kalpi Creations. Kota Srinivasa Rao, Pradeep Rawat, and Narendra Jha played the antagonist roles. Bhanupriya, Shafi played other important roles in Chhatrapati. Ajay, Surya, Venu Madhav, L. B. Sriram, Kamal Kamaraju, and Srinivas Reddy played supporting roles. Arti Agarwal and Mumaith Khan shook the legs with Prabhas in special songs.
Usual for Rajamouli films, M. M. Keeravani composed the musical score for this film. TThe cinematography is handled by Gautham Menon. Editing work is done by senior editor Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. M. Ratnam provided the dialogues.
Chhatrapati is Rajamouli's first movie with Prabhas. Shriya and Prabhas paired up for the first time in this film. R. Ravinder is the art director of this movie.

The story of this movie revolves around two brothers who parted during their childhood in a firestorm. Prabhas played Shivaji, the stepson of the mother character played by Bhanupriya grows up to be a leader of people at Vizag shipyard searches for his mother and stepbrother played by Shafi.
The movie hit the screen on 30 September 2005.
