Chef Review & Rating|
‘Chef’ stars Saif Ali Khan in the lead role who plays a professional chef that loses his job due to his anger issues. He also never spends time with his son but this changes when he decides to start his own food truck and goes to different cities with his son to sell his food. It is India’s official remake of the Hollywood film of the same name and is directed by Raja Krishna Menon.
Saif Ali Khan and Chandan Roy Sanyal’s performances stand out in this film as they try to embody the characters they are playing. Svar Kamble in his role as Saif’s son gets the job done and has his moments in the film. Padmapriya looks beautiful as the wife but Milind Soman steals the show in his brief appearance.
The dialogues of the film are simple and do not try to be pretentious. The story is down to earth and connects with the audience. The music of the film helps the story a lot and songs like 'Sugal Laga Le' by Raghu Dixit and 'Tere Mere' by Amaal Malik were blockbusters even before the film's release
Verdict: 'Chef' is a pleasant story which focuses on a father-son relationship. Though it adds nothing new to the original version, it has its own Indian flavor that is filled with good performances. This film is definitely a one time watch.
