As the name suggests, Amazon Obhijaan is an adventure drama that involves mystery, thrill, and excitement. Director Kamaleswar Mukherjee brought Shankar back in yet another adventure in the second film of Chander Pahar franchise. This time, Shankar ventures through the impassable jungle of Amazon in the search of El Dorado - The City Of Gold. Will he be able to find the city everyone has dreamt to find one day?

Shankar is now settled as a school teacher in his village. An Italian explorer Anna meets him there with an incredible offer. She reveals that her father is going into depression after a failed expedition to Amazon. She requested him to help her and be a part of a new adventure. Shankar again became a part of a treasure hunt on the request of Anna and experience challenges of nature before he finds his destination. Along with Anna and her father, Marco, Shankar enters the Amazon basin in Brazil. The film stars Dev as Shankar. Russian actress Svetlana Gulakova plays his companion in his adventure in the mysterious Amazon basin. 

Amazon Obhijaan became a huge hit at the box-office and went on to become the highest grosser film of Bengali cinema ever. It was dubbed to four different languages including Hindi, Odiya, Tamil and Telugu.
