Champion is touted to be a Sports based movie written and directed by Sussenthiran. Aadhalal Kaadhal Seiveer fame Roshan is on board to play the tutor character's younger version. The Dubsmash sensation Mirnalini Ravi is making her debut as a heroine in this movie that revolves around Football. Champion also marks Suseenthiran's third movie based on sports. He made his debut with Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu based on Kabbadi featuring Vishnu Vishal in the lead role and In 2014 he made his next venture based on Cricket which was titled Jeeva. Naren, GK Reddy and Jayaprakash are also on board to do important character roles. Arol Corelli scores the music and the cinematography is by Sujith Sarang.
