The story of Chal Mohan Ranga revolves around a happy go lucky Mohan Ranga whose aim in life is to go to America so that he can get in touch with his childhood sweet heart. He does everything to go to the US, but he fails to get a visa. Finally, when a Bammagaru he knows dies, Mohan goes with her body to deliver to her son. Mohan expects that for this, he will get help from Bammagaru son. But it turns out that he is just thanked. 

Mohan is disappointed. But he stays in the US nonetheless and one day meets Megha when he is intoxicated. She helps keep him warm in the cold winter by giving him a blanket. Later when Mohan was asked to meet Ramesh, an NRI, who helps Indian youngsters by sponsoring their visas, Mohan on the way meets Megha again. She is wary of him because of his past behaviour. After a few misadventures, Megha accompanies Mohan on his way to Ramesh's home. There she helps convince Ramesh to give sponsorship to Mohan.

Over time, Mohan and Megha fall in love. Winter sees their love but she suddenly leaves him during the summer. Why Megha left Mohan and how they clear the misunderstandings and unite form the rest of the story.
