Baadshaho is a periodical drama based in the emergency period of India. Set in the year 1975, the film tells the story of Rani Gitanjali, a princess to a royal family in Gujarat. Rani Gitanjali has loads of gold in her possession which she did not hand it over the government even after her ancestral reign was over. Rani Gitanjali is then get arrested for owning gold without declaration when her palace is raided by the Indian government.
Two thieves Bhavani and Dalia try to steal the gold while it is being transferred to Delhi by road and also try to raise a voice against the government but a cop Army Officer Major Seher Singh has been appointed to protect the gold. Upon her release, Rani tells Bhawani about her motives of helping her village with all the gold. Bhawani then promises her to bring all the seized gold to her and shares a romantic relationship with her. The movie takes a major twist and turns and the real motives of Rani Gitanjali are revealed in the last. Will Bhawani and Dalia be able to save them from the trap of the Rani. The film is supposedly based on real-life incidents about an investigation conducted by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Baadshaho received mixed to positive reviews. Critics said that the plot was bit old-fashioned and dull and the story was not well executed. However, The songs of the films were highly appreciated and were well received by the music lovers. Being made on a budget of 90 crores, Baadshaho earned 160 crores at the box office.
