Aravindante Athidhikal Review & Rating
M Mohanan who has earlier presented lovable tales like Kadha Parayumbol and Manikyakallu is returning to filmmaking after a gap of five years with the Vineeth Sreenivasan starrer Aravindante Athidhikal. The film is touted to be a light family entertainer which tells the story Aravindan who is a caretaker at a lodge in Mukambika. The movie features an ensemble cast which has veteran actors Sreenivasan, Shanthi Krishna, Urvashi, and KPAC Lalitha among others. Check out Aravindante Athidhikal review below.
Aravindan runs a small lodge at Mukambika with his foster father Madhavan who found him as a little boy, left alone and frantically seeking his parents, on a Navarathri day. Aravindan although appears to be a jovial personality with a knack for canvassing customers for the lodge and running other errands, he bears within the deep loss and a sense of longing. While everyone else in Mookambika revels in the deity's darsham, Aravindan keeps himself away and he has a strong reason to do so. But everything changes for the better when a guest turns up at the lodge for a few days stay.
Vineeth Sreenivasan as Aravindan delivers one of his usual-self performances in the movie and gets away with it just fine. Sreenivasan doesn't have too many scenes in the movie but some of the scenes that have the father-son combo on screen are quite entertaining. Nikhila Vimal as Varada delivers a good performance and handles the comedy scenes with a refreshing subtlety. Urvashi carries her role just fine but some of the comedy scenes featuring her look forced out and shrinks without creating the desired effect.Shanthi Krishna and KPAC Lalitha have also done a marvelous performance in their respective roles.
Aravindhante Athidhikal is an emotion-driven film. A sense of loss and longing pertains in most of the scenes and it is capable of making one shed a tear or two at many instances. Post interval, the film becomes too emotional and sometimes in an insipid fashion which doesn't make an impact. And the climax, which is a happy one, ends hastily and hurriedly, leaving the viewers rather confused than consoled or even happy.
Final Word: A simple and entertaining one time watch.

What To Expect From Aravindante Athidhikal?
Vineeth Sreenivasan And Sreenivasan Combo
Vineeth Sreenivasan is teaming up on screen with his father and veteran actor Sreenivasan after a long gap in Aravindante Athidhikal. This father-son duo has earlier delivered endearing performances in movies such as Makante Achan, Padmasree Bharat Dr. Sarooj Kumar and they share a commendable on-screen chemistry. The duo is one of the major highlights of Aravindante Adithikal and their combo is indeed something to watch out for.
Performances by Urvashi, Shanthi Krishna, and KPAC Lalitha
Aravindante Athidhikal has three of the finest senior actress coming together on screen; Urvashi, Shanthi Krishna, and KPAC Lalitha. It has been while after we saw Urvashi on screen and it is after a brief gap, the actress is donning a role with a tinge of humor. Shanthi Krishna, on the other hand, is making her third outing in Aravindante Athidhikal after her second comeback with Nivin Pauly starrer Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela. The movie seems to have KPAC Lalitha in a role different from her usual all-bearing-and-loving mother characters. It would indeed be a treat to watch this actresses sharing screen.
Another Family Entertainer from M Mohanan
M Mohanan is a Kerala State Film Award-winning filmmaker who made his directorial debut with 2007 film Katha Parayumbol which featured Sreenivasan and Mammootty in the lead roles. His film Manikyakallu that had Prithviraj and Samvrutha Sunil in central roles, was also a box office hit. Aravindante Athidhikal is expected to be the next in the list of his hit movies and by the looks of it, it has all the chances to be.
