Major Jai Bakshi is an officer in a classified special operations unit called Data Systems Diagnostics (DSD). While conducting Telephone surveillance, he overhears an ex-Army officer Lt. Gen Gurinder Singh (retired) trying to bribe the Army chief Pratap Malik. But when Pratap refuses to take the bribe, Gurinder threatens him to expose the existence of DSD to the general public. Jai suspects of a major scam involving the Indian Army and after 2 months of continuous surveillance, Jai along with his girlfriend Sonia who is a cyber-expert, goes rogue and escapes to London.
Captain Maya informs Colonel Abhay Singh about Jai stealing highly sensitive data from DSD office and going rogue. Abhay raids Jai's house but finds nothing and eventually launches a manhunt for him. Meanwhile a corrupt Army office Brig. K Srinivas also watches Abhay's movement and reports it to Gurinder. However, Abhay outsmarts Srinivas and then shifts the DSD office to an undisclosed location. Jai then informs his DSD members to keep a low profile as they have been disavowed and he goes to London in search of Jai. What brings next is tales of plot twists with other scams coming into light. What happens when Abhay meets Jai forms the plot of the rest of the movie.
Aiyaary didn't perform well at the box office and failed to impress the audience as well. The movie was made on a budget of 65 crores and earned 29.23 crores at the box office.
