Sri Divya is an Indian model and film and television actress who appears in South Indian movies, mainly in Tamil and Telugu films. She began acting at an age of 3 years and since then she has acted in numerous television series and is widely known for her movie Hanuman Junction (2000) in which she acted as a child artiste. She started acting in the mainstream movies as leading actress from 2010 and debuted in Tollywood industry with the movie Manasara. In 2013, with Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam she made her debut in Kollywood. The movie won her SIIMA Award for Best Debut Actress. Sri Divya's popular movies include Jeeva (2014),  Kaaki Sattai (2015), Bangalore Naatkal (2016), and Mallela Theeram Lo Sirimalle Puvvu among others.

    Sri Divya was born in Chennai on 30th November 1986. She moved to Hyderabad when her family shifted to then Andhra Pradesh capital. She started acting at a very young age and had her first movie role at the age of three in Hanuman Junction (2000).  She starred in many Telugu films like Yuvaraju, and Veede before she made her debut in the lead role of Manasara.

    Early Years

    Sri Divya made her debut as a lead actress with the Ravi Babu directed Telugu flick, Manasara in 2010. The film had her play Anjali, a Malayali girl opposite Vikram. She acted in two more Telugu films, Bus Stop and Mallela Theeram Lo Sirimalle Puvvu (2013) before finding success in Tamil. Her first movie in Tamil was Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam was a sleeper hit and gained her fans all over the state. She played a village belle named Latha opposite Sivakarthikeyan’s Bosepandi who fashions himself as a local figure. She starred in Jeeva and Vellaikaara Durai in 2014. Both the films had an above average reception at the box office.

    2015 saw the actress starring in a string of films which had above average performances at the box office. Her Telugu flicks like Size Zero (in which she played a cameo), Varadhi and Kerintha were average grossers while her Tamil film Kaaki Sattai turned out to be a blockbuster. The movie, which had Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role, went on to become a huge success by raking in more than Rs 50 Crores. Sri Divya also starred in the Tamil sports-action movie, Eetti. The movie had Atharvaa in the lead role and was declared a hit upon release.

    Later Years

    After the tremendous success of Kaaki Sattai, Sri Divya became one of the most sought-after actresses in the Tamil industry. In the following year, she starred in Bangalore Naatkal, the Tamil remake of the Malayalam superhit, Bangalore Days. She played the role played by Nazriya Nazim and shared screen space with Arya, Bobby Simha, and Rana Daggubati.

    In the same year, the actress starred in Marudhu, opposite Vishal and in Pencil, opposite GV Prakash Kumar. Kaashmora, starring Karthi released in the same year and received accolades for its comedy. The actress also made a guest appearance in Sivakrthikeyan’s Remo. Her next movie Maaveeran Kittu which released in the same year was an average fare. 

    In 2017, she starred opposite to Jiiva in Sangili Bungili Kadhava Thorae, a horror comedy which ended up as another average affair at the box office. The movie was her only release in the year. Sri Divya is now all set to make her next outing in Othaikku Othai which has her Eeti co-star Atharvaa in the lead.
