Sayyeshaa Saigal is an Indian actress known for her works in Bollywood, Tollywood and Kollywood. She debuted with a Telugu film titled ‘Akhil’ which also happens to be the debut movie of popular Telugu hero Nagarjuna’s son, Akhil Akkineni. She entered into Bollywood with the Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Shivaay’ in 2017. Notably, she is the grandniece of veteran actors Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu.

Born to actors Sumeet Saigal and Shaheen Banu, Sayyeshaa belongs to the film family of popular veteran actors Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu. From an early age, Sayyeshaa always wanted to be an actress. Getting into films was her primary goal and did everything that can be done to enter into films. She started getting professionally trained in several western dance forms including Samba, Rumba Cha Cha and Indian styles like Kathak and Odissi. At the age of 17, Sayyeshaa got her first opportunity to appear in the Bollywood movie ‘Shivaay’ starring Ajay Devgn. Although it was her first film to go on sets, it got delayed for unforeseen reasons as ‘Akhil’, which she signed after ‘Shivaay’, hit the screens first marking it as her debut film.

The first opportunity coming Sayyeshaa Saigal’s way was the Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Shivaay’. On her 17th birthday, actor Ajay Devgn gave her an offer to act in his movie which she signed immediately. But it got delayed for reasons unknown and in the meantime, she acted in a Telugu movie titled ‘Akhil, the launch film for popular Telugu actor Nagarjuna’s son Akhil Akkineni. ‘Akhil’ released a year before ‘Shivaay’ in 2015.
Finally, in 2016 on October 28, her first Hindi film ‘Shivaay’ released with a positive talk and great opening at the box-office. The film was praised highly for its breathtaking visuals and top notch action sequences. Sayyeshaa also received accolades from critics for her remarkable performance in the film.
Although, there have been several reports that Sayyeshaa signed many projects in Bollywood but no film of hers released in 2016 after ‘Shivaay’. She once again shifted to south. The actress acted opposite Jayam Ravi in the Tamil film ‘Vanamagan’, which explores the story of a tribal leader and his inseparable attachment to forest life. Sayyeshaa played a city-based girl who falls in love with Jayam Ravi. Her third film is also a Tamil one titled ‘Karuppa Raj Vellai Raja’ which is being directed by Prabhu Deva.

Sayyeshaa Saigal’s love for dance has worked as a hidden catalyst to choose films as her career. Ever since she was a little girl, the actress has loved all kinds of dance forms, be it traditional Kathak or western Cha Cha. Her relentless practice made her one of the top dancers in the film industry. Apparently, Sayyeshaa still practices dance for hours if there is no shoot. Her personal dance videos are extremely popular on the internet which clearly shows her expertise in Hip hop, Cha Cha, Rumba and other Indian traditional dance forms.
