Neeraj Madhav is multi-talented persona working in Malayalam film industry. As an actor, he started off in the industry doing side kick-roles and is popular for his roles in movies such as Drishyam, 1983, Sapthamashree Thaskaraha, Oru Vadakkan Selfie, and Oru Mexican Aparatha among many other popular Malayalam films. In 2017, after fours years of being in the industry, Neeraj made his debut as a hero in Paipin Chuvattile Pranayam. The same year, he also debuted as a screenplay writer for the movie Rosapoo. He is also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and a chenda artist.

Neeraj was born to Dr. K Madhavan and Latha on 26th March 1990 at Thiruvannur, Calicut. He finished his initial schooling from St Joseph’s Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Calicut. Later, he acquired his graduation from SRM University, Chennai in Visual communications. He has a post-graduate degree from School of Drama and Fine Arts, Thrissur in Theatre.
Neeraj was involved with performing arts since his childhood. He has been trained in Bharatanatyam by Kalamandalam Saraswathy. He has also learned ‘Chenda’ from Kalanilayam Udayan Nambodiri. Neeraj Madhav was one of the final round contenders in the popular reality show Super Dancer which first brought him into the limelight.

Neeraj was selected by director Raaj Prabavathy Menon for his debut film, Buddy in 2013. The film had him share screen space with Anoop Menon, Srikanth, and Asha Sarath. The movie helped him bag roles in two of Jeethu Joseph’s thrillers. The first was Memories, starring Prithviraj and the second was Drishyam, starring Mohanlal. The two movies were released in the same year and went on to become super hits. While Memories was a huge hit, Drishyam broke all records and is currently the biggest money grosser Malayalam has seen till now.
In the following year, he was seen in films like 1983, Apothecary, Sapthamashree Thaskaraha and Homely Meals. His performance in the Anil Radhakrishna Menon directed heist movie Sapthamshree Thaskaraha was well appreciated for the comic timing.
In 2015, he was seen in films like Mariyam Mukku, Madhura Naranga and Jamna Pyari etc. What has since become one his most popular performance was in Oru Vadakkan Selfie. He played Thankaprasad and spoke in the typical slang of Thalasserry. Mushin Parari’s KL 10 Patthu, Martin Prakkatt’s superhit movie Charlie, John Varghese’s Adi Kapyare Kootamani and Basil Joseph’s Kunjiramayanam.
He has repeated success by uniting with Jeethu Joseph in Oozham (2016). The film has him share space with Balachandra Menon, Prithviraj and Divya Pillai.
The side-kick role in the popular movies made him a popular face among the audience. Most roles that actor essayed during his initial years has a shade of humor and showcased commendable comic timing. Oru Mexican Aparatha, which came out in the beginning of 2017, featured Neeraj in a key role alongside Tovino Thomas. He gracefully stole the show in the first half of the film with a powerful performance as an aspiring student leader who holds strong ideals. The second half of 2017 marked his debut as lead hero and also a screenwriter. LavaKusha, which marked Neeraj's writing debut, also had the actor appearing in a title role alongside Aju Varghese. The movie was met with an average response from the part of the audience and failed to make an impact at the box office. Debutant Domin D'Silva's Paipin Chuvattile Pranayam, which marked his debut as a lead actor, also met a similar fate at the box office. However, his performance in the movie was fetched positive feedbacks. Rosapoo (2018), the Biju Menon movie which featured the actor in a key role, was met with a lukewarm response, as well.
