She started her career as a child artiste in Hindi 'Hawa' (2003) and later became a heroine through Telugu flick 'Desamuduru'. The actress has won SIIMA Award for Best Actress and Edison Award for Best Actress for her performance in the Tamil movie 'Oru Kal Oru Kannadi'.
