Dia Mirza is a model turned actress who predominantly works in Hindi language films. Dia was crowned as Miss Asia Pacific 2000 and also won the titles of Miss Beautiful Smile, Miss Avon and Miss Close-Up Smile in Miss India. Dia made her Bollywood debut in 2001, with the movie Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein co-starring R. Madhavan and Saif Ali Khan. So far Dia has appeared in 35 Hindi movies and Dia has also ventured in film production along with her husband Sahil Sangha. 

Dia Mirza Early Life

Born as Diya Handrich, Dia Mirza was a model and appeared in various print ads and TV commercials for brands like Lipton, Wall's ice cream, and Emami. In 2000, Dia won the title of Miss Asia Pacific and subsequently won Miss Beautiful Smile, Miss Avon and Miss Close-Up Smile in Miss India. 

Dia Mirza Career

Dia Mirza started her Bollywood career in 2001 with movie Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein co-starring R. Madhavan and Saif Ali Khan. The movie was a box office failure, however, it has developed a cult following among Indian youth. Dia then appeared in Deewaanapan opposite debutant Arjun Rampal and in Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge opposite Salman Khan. Both, however, were box office flops. Dia has appeared in successful movies like Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Parineeta, and Shootout at Lokhandwala. Dia also had to face numerous flops including Fight Club – Members Only, Cash, and Tumsa Nahin Dekha. 

Dia Mirza also did cameo appearances in movies like Phir Hera Pheri, Heyy Babyy, Om Shanti Om, Kurbaan, and Luck By Chance. Dia married her longtime business partner Sahil Sangha on 18 October 2014. Dia and his husband together own a production house  Born Free Entertainment. They produced their first film in 2011, Love Breakups Zindagi. The movie received mixed reviews from the critics. Their second film, Bobby Jasoos which had Vidya Balan in lead was also declared flop at the box office. 

Apart from movies, Dia is an active social activist. She supports Cancer Patients Aid Association, PETA, and Spastics Society of India. Dis was appointed as brand ambassador of the Wildlife Trust of India and also supported Narmada Bachao Andolan. Dia's next is Rajkumar Hirani's Sanju costarring Ranbir Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, and Anushka Sharma. Dia will be seen playing the role of Manyata Dutt.
