Superstar Mahesh has a near universal fan appeal. He’s a youth favourite. A lot can be written about his craze among young ladies and girls. He’s owned up by the family audience so much so that he’s the quintessential and de facto family hero of Tollywood now. And he’s the king of overseas markets until a couple of years ago. His films too have universal appeal. Reason? His tendency to experiment with content unlike other star heroes who generally play a safe game. He used to have no anti fans.

That was not the case anymore these days. He’s more into playing it safe and is trolled for that by the anties (a new phenomenon). This has been the case since the debacle with one of the greatest Telugu films of all time. 1:Nenokkadine. The failure of that film pushed him to the edge and he’s not the same since. This is proved once again with the current whispers in the industry.

It is known that Mahesh had committed to do a film with Maharshi director Vamshi Paidipally. But the film was postponed multiple times and led to speculations that Mahesh shunned Vamshi Paidipally. But it turned out that that was not the case. He just wanted a few changes in the subject. Now, he’s committed to do Sarkaru Vari Paata. As per the latest industry grapevine, he directed Vamshi to do the film with Vijay Deverakonda. What more, Mahesh is planning to produce it.

There was also a rumour that Mahesh will do a film with Arjun Reddy director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. But if the industry chatter is true, he sent the project to Vijay Deverakonda again. Fans are flabbergasted as these two projects are potentially game changing subjects. Mahesh might have his reasons, but a majority of his fans don’t want him in routine and regular films. Rather they want to see him in great and varied subjects.

As for Vijay Deverakonda, this is a Jai Maheshmathi moment!
