Telugu audience are attacked by Mollywood fever and it’s good. With the Malayalam movies being talked about by almost every film buff, several good to great Malayalam films have been trending lately. Likewise, several films are in consideration for remakes in Telugu. Among them, Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya is the first to hit the screens (albeit small screens). The would have released on 15th July 2020 but was postponed to 31 July 2020
The official Telugu remake of Malayalam instant classic Maheshinte Pratheekaram starring Mollywood’s man of the moment, Fahadh Faasil and directed by Dileesh Pothan has created a lot of buzz ever since the casting was announced. Sathya Dev is one of the most loved and highly rated young actors in Telugu. He plays the role of a youngster who sets out on a hilariously simple revenge mission. The beauty of it is: it could happen to anyone. At any moment of their life.
Now, coming to its trade and an analysis of its profits and loses. The film is made on a relatively smaller budget of Rs. 2.79 Cr. As per our sources, it is bagged by the OTT giant Netflix for an amount of Rs. 5.18 Cr. And per the same sources the satellite rights are optioned for about Rs. 3.01 Cr. With the incidental expenses almost nothing considerable, the makers made a huge profit of 5.4 Cr. If the film clicks very well, the Hindi dubbing rights may come into play. As of now, no such thing happened.
