Films in the forest backdrops are not new in Telugu cinema, as we have many iconic hits like Adavi Ramudu, Bobbili Raja, Adavi Donga, and many more in the olden days. But in the new millennium, the fad that ushered on this trend gradually lost its pace with commercial potboilers taking the lead. But, it looks like our filmmakers have suddenly found fascination on jungles once again as a couple of films on forests backdrop are currently in the making. For example, Rajamouli's magnum opus RRR is largely set in forest backdrop as one of the lead roles Alluri Seetharamaraju leads the tribal people in the revolt against the British rule.
Stylish Star Allu Arjun and Sukumar's Pushpa is also set in forest backdrop and deals with red sanders smuggling backdrop in the Chittor region. Rana Daggubati's Aranya also deals with forest backdrop and talks about how people in the name of urbanization are poaching the wildlife habitats and turning them into urban jungles.
And now, director Krish's new film with young mega hero Vaishnav Tej also said to deals with a forest backdrop. As per the sources, the film is based on the acclaimed novel Kondapolam. The novel deals with the lives of hard-working villagers who leave their homes and live on hills, and how they risk their lives to collect natural essentials in the mountains during the drought season. Krish is said to have acquired the rights of the novel for a cost of 10 lakhs. He is also planning to shoot the entire film in Vikarabad forest region.
