Shriya Saran and Andrei Koscheev
In one of the secret weddings of the year, gorgeous lady and one of the top South Indian actresses, Shriya Saran tied the knot with her boyfriend, Russian entrepreneur Andrei Koscheev. The ceremony was kept secret for the most part with only the near and dear attending it. The wedding took place at her Lokhandwala residence and a grand reception had taken place in Udaipur later. Though the formal wedding happened on 12 March 2018, it was only after a week that the news cropped up. Shriya came up with a touch of Dhoni.
Swathi Reddy and Vikas
Tollywood heroine Swathi tied the knot with Vivek, a Malaysian Airlines pilot who resides in Jakarta, Indonesia. Apparently, she might have met him in one of her travels. After a period of courting, they decided to take their relationship to the next level and informed their parents. But nothing of this directly came out from the actress. An assistant director leaked the information. Swathi said she has no plans to stop acting in films in an interview (after her marriage) where she shared information about her wedding, how she was feeling and her plans to continue her career.
M. M. Manasi and Dr. Abhinesh Vijayakumar
Popular singer and voice artist M. M. Manasi took the wedding vows this year with Dr. Abhinesh Vijayakumar on 7 May 2018. She had sung under most of the popular South Indian music directors and had given the voice for Avantika character from Baahubali: The Beginning played by Tamannaah Bhatia. 2018 is a double good time for the talented young singer as her rendition for the super hit Rangamma Mangamma from Rangasthalam won applause from all quarters.
Bhavana and Naveen
Actress Bhavana is known to Telugu audience through films like Ontari, Hero, and Mahatma has tied the knot with popular Kannada film producer Naveen whom she has been dating for some time. They decided to exchange marriage vows last year in a secret engagement ceremony and entered the wedlock on 22 January 2018. Bhavana’s close friends from the industry like Remya Nambeesan, Navya Nair, Manju Warrier etc. were present at the ceremony.
Madalasa Sharma and Mimoh Chakraborty
Remember Madalasa Sharma? She acted in the E. V. V. Satyanarayana directorial Fitting Master. The model turned actress played the lead roles in few South Indian films before acting in Punjabi and Hindi movies. She even had the credit of acting in a German film. Madalasa Sharma exchanged wedding vows with Bollywood actor Mahaakshay Chakraborty who is the son of Mithun da (Mithun Chakraborty).
Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi
Among the list of celebs who tied the knot this year is former Miss India Neha Dhupia who was placed in the top ten finalists of 2002 Miss Universe contest. Even as her acting career is going smoothly with some good roles which brought her applause, she entered the wedlock with the model turned actor Angad Bedi. If you remember right, she acted in the Telugu movie Villain opposite Dr. Rajasekhar way back in 2003.
Meghana Raj and Chiranjeevi Sarja
Kannada beauty Meghana Raj who debuted with Bendu Apparao RMP in 2009 has tied the knot with Chiranjeevi Sarja, fellow Kannada actor (he is the nephew of star hero Arjun) on 2 May 2018. Post her debut in Telugu, Meghana acted in several Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam movies apart from few appearances in Telugu.
Ajay Bhupathi and Sirisha
Maverick director Ajay Bhupathi who made everyone take notice of his talent with the blockbuster movie RX 100 married Sirisha on 25 August post-the success of his directorial debut. His rise to prominence is one of the most fascinating stories in Telugu Cinema this year, and as he told in one of the interviews, he had found his soulmate in Sirisha after a period of heartbreak. Unlike the hero in RX 100, he found real-life happiness.
Shweta Basu Prasad and Rohit Mittal
Shweta Basu Prasad who gained instant recognition as a child artist with Makdee and the sports drama Iqbal received considerable praise from the critics. She later ventured into the South Indian Cinema with Kotha Bangaru Lokam. She had enjoyed a brief spell of stardom in Tollywood. On 13 December 2018, Shweta Basu tied the knot with young filmmaker Rohit Mittal. They had a traditional Bengali wedding.
