Megastar Mammootty and Superstar Mohanlal are, without a doubt, the two pillars of Malayalam film industry, who made it stand on its own feet, post 1980s. These two giants of Mollywood, the Big M's, ruled the Box Office and created and new records, with their movies. But there have been instances when there was a Mohanlal vs Mammootty clash at the BO. So, at this moment, we went back into the history and collected the data about instances when the movies of Mammootty and Mohanlal clashed at the Box-Office. Which were those movies? Check out below.

[NB: For the clash, either both the stars should have had same day film releases or the release should have been close to one another, maximum of a week’s time. Old movies of Mammootty and Mohanlal (prior to 1990) were not calculated as their star value hadn’t reached its zenith, then.]

Chotta Mumbai (April 06, 2007), directed by Anwar Rasheed, was an in and out masala laughter riot. On the other hand, Big B (April 13, 2007), directed by Amal Neerad, was first of its kind action thriller in Malayalam. This movie also gave a new dimension, in the aspects of technical perfection and storytelling, to the gangster films genre in Malayalam. Both the movies were mass films and did good business at the BO. But the winner in this case was Chotta Mumbai, which went on to become one of the top among Mohanlal box office hits.
