Tamil Heroes Who Amazed The Audiences With Their Bald Avatars

Karthi's silver screen personas are different & nuanced. They can't be termed as 'run-of-the-mill' roles. Be it in 'Aayirathil Oruvan' or in 'Thozha', his roles are not the kind we come across on the big screen usually. For ‘Kashmora’, Karthi became fit & shaved his locks to sport a frightening look. Given that Kashmora is a horror movie; his terrifying look is quite apt for this film.

Sathyaraj is quite a handsome man. But for 'Bāhubali', he transformed into a weary man who protects an evil king. The transformation added gravitas to his role as a bold & dedicated man such as 'Kattappa' would be unmindful about his hair. Another performance booster was his attire. Fully armoured, the bodyguard was ever-ready to combat any danger. He had earlier donned the bald avatar in the 2014 flick 'Poojai'.

In 'I', Vikram resembled more like a patient undergoing chemotherapy than like an actor. He lost so much of weight that he became bony. On top of that, he shaved of his tresses & wore a disgusting wig to pull off the sickly look in the movie. His physical transformation bothered his wife & parents for they were concerned about his health. He came back to his usual self after the movie's release.

Well, Vivekh may not be a full-time hero but he has acted in a few films as lead actor. For 'Sakalakala Vallavan', Vivekh shaved off his head for the role. The surprising thing is that the role is just a cameo. It shows how serious he is when it comes to acting.

Rajini doesn't not have long tresses. However, in his roles, he was always seen sporting a very realistic wig. For 'Sivaji: The Boss', he made an exception by losing the wig. Not only that, he enjoys his new look & makes all sorts of sounds by swiftly tapping his fingers on his head.

What happens when someone's lover is brutally murdered in front of him? He'll go mad. That's what happens with Suriya in 'Ghajini'. For this role, Suriya sported an awful look which was topped off with his bald head. The look was not only repulsive but it is also a mental image which we would associate with a serial killer.

Kamal Haasan's bald avatar is god awful in 'Aalavandhan'. It looks more like he visited a bad tattoo parlour & decided to scare the audiences to the best extent possible. To sum it up, it is one of those images which we would like to erase from our minds immediately after seeing it. The reinvention was for a role as killer who goes wild due to a misunderstanding with his twin brother.
