8 Telugu Actors Who Died At A Young Age

Tollywood is a hub of opportunities for the new talent. But it takes more than just the talent to stand out and make a statement. Many instances prove that, no matter how talented you are if luck doesn’t favour, you cannot succeed in the industry. Tollywood gave fame and wealth to many in a short period and at the same time, many met with the fate they do not deserve. However, they are remembered for the remarkable work they have done in their short period of time in the industry. So, we bring you the list of these talented Telugu actors who died young but will be remembered forever.

  1. Aarthi Agarwal

    Aarthi Agarwal made her Bollywood debut with Paagalpan, at the age of 16. Later she entered Telugu film industry with Nuvvu Naaku Nachav alongside Venkatesh. She was one of the few non-Telugu speaking actresses to act beside the star heroes like Nandamuri Balakrishna, Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, and NTR etc. Though she had acted with several star heroes, she had to go through a rough path in establishing her career. In April 2015, Aarthi Agarwal has undergone liposuction as she was suffering from obesity and pulmonary illness. While she was still under medication, she suffered a cardiac arrest and died on 6 June 2015. Aarthi will always be remembered in Tollywood for her bubbly girl role in Nuvvu Naaku Nachav.

  2. Uday kiran

    Vajpeyajula Uday Kiran aka Uday Kiran was one of the aspiring young heroes in Tollywood. He made his debut with Chitram and scored a hat-trick success with his next two movies Nuvvu Nenu and Manasantha Nuvve. Later he acted in few movies but he could not do well, the reason being the issues he had with star heroes. On 5 January 2014, ​Uday Kiran committed suicide by hanging himself inside his flat in Sri Nagar colony. Reports stated that he had committed suicide due to the financial crisis. But, there were rumours that he had committed suicide because of the discriminations he faced in the film industry. Kiran was one of the promising young heroes who cannot be forgotten in Tollywood.

  3. Yasho Sagar

    Yasho Sagar is a young hero who won the hearts of the people with just one movie. He debuted in the industry with Ullasamga Utsahamga in 2008, which was a box office hit. His acting skills were praised, though he seemed amateur at some scenes the script helped him get noticed in the industry. But his career did not last long as he was killed in a car crash, on his way back to Hyderabad from Mumbai on 25 December 2012.

  4. Bhargavi

    Bhargavi entered Telugu film Industry with YVS Choudary’s movie Devadasu, which gave her a good recognition. Later she acted as heroine in Ashta Chamma. This fame got her many offers in Big and Small screens. In Television, she has received a good response for her show Ammamma.com but it did not last long. On 16 December 2008, Bhargavi was found dead in her apartment with Praveen Kumar, an Orchestra troupe operator. In the suicide note, Praveen mentioned that they got married a few​ months ago but as she received offers in the movie industry she distanced herself from him, which is why he murdered her and killed himself. It is so unfortunate for Tollywood to lose a talented actress like Bhargavi.

  5. Soundarya

    Soundarya Raghu was one of the most prominent actresses in Telugu film Industry. She started her career in 1993 debuting in hit movie ‘Rajendrudu Gajendrudu’ alongside Rajendra Prasad. Soundarya is known for her versatile acting playing strong, positive and responsible characters in each movie. She preferred performance oriented roles and she took a tough stand on glamour roles. She was called the ‘Savithri of modern times' because of her screen presence and success. She has acted with all the star heroes of Tollywood like Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Venkatesh and Mohan Babu. She has acted in 114 films just in Tollywood in the span of 12 years. Her brilliant performances were critically acclaimed all over. Soundarya died in a plane crash on 17 April ​2004, on her way to Andhra Pradesh from Bangalore, as part of the election campaign for BJP.

  6. Achyuth

    Kunapareddy Achyutha Vara Prasad was one of the prominent supporting artists of his time. He is remembered for his role as Pawan Kalyan’s (Subbu) brother in Thammudu. He has done several movies with star heroes in supporting roles. He was also very popular in the television serials. On December 26, 2002, ​Achyuth breathed his last after suffering from a heart attack. His death was a great loss for TV and Tollywood industries.

    Prathyusha is one of the few Telugu speaking actresses who worked in Tollywood. She started her career with a supporting role in the movie Rayudu in 1988. Later she acted in several supporting and lead roles in movies like Sri Ramulayya, Samudram, Edhi Emi Uru Raa Babu, Snehamante Idera etc. She was called one of the promising actresses in Tollywood. She died in February 2002 after consuming poison mixed in coke. It was reported that she and her boyfriend tried to commit suicide after her family rejected their marriage proposal. Her boyfriend Siddhartha Reddy recovered after the treatment but she did not survive.

    Divya Om Prakash Bharti aka Divya Bharathi was one of the promising actresses in Tollywood and Bollywood. She started her film career at the age of 16 debuting in Telugu Movie ‘Bobbili Raja’ in 1990 beside Venkatesh, which was a box office hit. Later she acted in several other successful movies before making her debut in Bollywood with ‘Vishwatma’ in 1992. She was at the peak of her career when the unexpected incident happened. On 5 April 1993, she fell off​ her balcony at Tulsi Buildings in Versova, Mumbai. She died of severe internal bleeding at the back of her head. There were several rumours about the causes of her death but none of them were proven right.
