Taapsee, as we know was one of the brightest students during her schooling days. She is a winner of many beauty pageants. Taapsee was offered south Indian movies, but the actress was initially reluctant as she didn't speak the common tongue. As Naina Sethi in Badla
The Sujoy Ghosh's directorial Badla is equally thrilling, gripping and brilliant. Being a remake, the expectation from the movie was high and Sujoy knew how to feed viewers a thrilling ride they were seeking. Coming to the lead roles: Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu! While there is no question in breaking down Amitabh's acting in the film, it was Taapsee who stole the show. To play a character with so many layers and to ace every emotion is a risky thing, but as the story unfolded, Taapsee's acting took us all by surprise. *spoiler* Her anti-heroine role in the film is without a doubt one of the best roles of hers! And Badla was also Pycker India's Best Movie of the Week (4-9 March 2019).
As Swapna in Game Over
Bilingual film Game Over can be simply given the tag of one of the best thrillers of 2019! In the film, Taapsee's character is nyctophobic, bound to a wheelchair, it is Taapsee against the darkness. *spoiler alert* The movie soon divulges into Taapsee versus the killers and man oh man Taapsee's acting will make you bite your nails in nervousness and excitement. Taapsee took the whole film completely on her own shoulder and showed us that it doesn't always need a 'macho-man, 6 pack abs' to save a film! Game Over went on to become Pycker India's Best Movie of the Week (10-15 June 2019).
Upcoming films in 2019
Taapsee has so many surprises in store for us. She will play one of the oldest sharpshooters in Anurag Kashyap's Saand Ki Aankh. And by the look of the teaser, we can already say that Taapsee is going to win big with this one. Her next release is Mission Mangal, which is the story of brilliant minds behind India's Mars Orbiter Mission'.
Taapsee is the only actress to do numerous films in a year. And it is not wrong to say that Taapsee is the superstar of Indian cinema who is ruling both Bollywood and South Indian film industry!
