10 Stars Kids Who Couldn’t Make It Big In Tollywood

The competition in the film industry has become so intense that even star kids come up with ample preparation before they make their entry into films and from then on it is a never ending story of perfection and excellence. Sometimes it is just the backdrop that takes all the credit no matter how good or bad the star is. But it is not always the background or the support they receive to make their mark in the industry. It takes a lot more than just filmy background to make a statement in Tollywood. So, we have rounded up 10 stars, who despite coming from strong filmy backgrounds could not make it big in the industry.

Sai Ram Shankar

He is the brother of successful director Puri Jagannath. He started his career as an assistant director but later became a hero. He began his acting career as a lead actor in 2004 film ‘143’. His career has seen more failures than successes. Out of 10 movies he has acted in only a few have done well at the box office. Though his acting skills were praised by critics, he could not make it to the top.

Puri Jagannadh Sairam Shankar
Sumanth

Sumanth is the grandson of Akkineni Nageswara Rao and nephew of Akkineni Nagarjuna. He started his career in 1999 with ‘Premakatha’ under the direction of RGV. Out of the 22 movies he has acted, ‘Satyam’, ‘Godavari’, ‘Golconda High School’ are some of his notable hits. His family background might have helped him get the offers in industry but it takes more than that to standout. Even with a good number of movies in his career, he could not make it to the top list of Tollywood.

Raja Goutham Kanneganti

Goutham is the son of legendary comedian Brahmanandam. He started his career in 2009 as a hero with ‘Pallakilo Pelli Kuthru’, which did not do so well at the box office. But his acting skills impressed many. After a long gap of about 10 years, he tried his luck again in ‘Basanti’, which was another failure at the box office. After these failures he did not receive any offers in Tollywood

Brahmanandam
Tarun Kumar

Tarun Kumar is the elder son of Oriya actor Chakrapani Savvana Bhatti and Telugu actress Roja Ramani. His parent’s filmy careers helped him enter the movie industry as a child artist. In the year 2000, he made his debut as lead actor in ‘Nuvve Kavali’. He has acted in both Telugu and Tamil movies. ‘Nuvvu Leka Nenu Lenu’, ‘Nuvve Kavali’, ‘Bhale Dongalu’, ‘Sasirekha Parinayam’ are some of his movies which received praises all over. Though he had several hits to his name but could not make it to the most wanted list.

Vikram Narayana

Vikram Narayana is the son of the famous comedian M.S. Narayana. He debuted in the movie industry with ‘Koduku’, which turned out to be a disappointment at the box office. After some time he had changed his name and acted in 'Bhajantreelu' which was another disappointment. His trials to acting in supporting or antagonist roles too did not work out for him.

Taraka Ratna

Taraka Ratna hails from the legendary Nandamuri family. He is the grandson of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. He debuted in the industry with ‘Okato Number Kurradu’ in 2002. Since then he had tried different types of roles. He had received more compliments for his negative role in ‘Amaravathi’ than his lead roles in any other movie. Though he had ample opportunities, he could not prove his metal as hero in Tollywood industry.

Aryan Rajesh

Aryan Rajesh is the son of famous director EVV Satyanarayana. EVV introduced both of his sons Rajesh and Naresh in the industry. Naresh worked in comedy entertainers whereas Rajesh acted in action related movies. His first few movies were directed by his father EVV. He tried his luck in several movies but at the end, he had to give up as it wasn’t easy for him to withstand the competition. He finally settled as a producer under EVV Cinema banner after the demise of his father.

Arun Kumar

He is the son of famous director and producer Dasari Narayana Rao. He debuted in the Tollywood industry with ‘Greekuveerudu’ in 1998, which was directed by his father. The movie was an average hit at the box office. After a break of three years, he appeared in ‘Chinnaa’ in 2000, again under his father’s direction. Later he had acted in several other movies in the lead and supporting roles. Though he had strong support from his father, he couldn’t make it to the big league.

Naveen Vadde

Vadde Naveen is the son of film producer Vadde Ramesh. He debuted in the industry with ‘Korukunna Priyudu’ in 1997. He acted mostly in love stories and family entertainers like ‘Maa Balaji’, ‘Tamboolalu’, ‘Naa Hridayamlo Nidurinche Cheli’, and ‘Maa Aavida Meedottu Mee Aavida Chala Manchidi’. He had appeared in 27 movies, in supporting and lead roles. However, even with a good number of movies in his account, he could not rise to the top list of the Telugu movie industry.

Ghattamaneni Ramesh Babu

Ramesh Babu is the eldest son of Super Star Krishna. He started his career at the age of 12 as a child artist in the movie ‘Manushulu Chesina Dongalu’. He acted in few other movies as child artist before he took a break from the industry. Several years later, he made a comeback as a lead actor with the movie ‘Samraat’. He acted in several movies with his father Krishna. Two of his movies ‘Kaliyuga Karnudu’ and ‘Mugguru Kodukulu’ were also directed by his father. However even with the strong support of his father he could not make it big like his brother Mahesh Babu, who made it to stardom.
