Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor, Varun Sharma and Alex O'Nell starrer Roohi will have a theatrical release tomorrow. The horror-comedy directed by Hardik Mehta has been making headlines for various reasons. As he film's makers are creating a universe of supernatural figures, viewers found the film's plot looks a lot like 2019 iconic hit Stree.
Many have pointed out the film's set up is over-inspired from the Shraddha Kapoor starrer film which was widely loved and appreciated. However, that is not necessarily a drawback. The same scary and funny elements of the previous film is making Roohi a must-watch. The film is going to be first big theatrical release after the lockdown. Let's check out what you can expect from the movie
1. The Storyline:
Inspired from Stree or not, Roohi does have an interesting story to tell. The trailer has given a glimpse of the same. The horror-comedy narrates the story of a witch who targets the newly wed grooms. To protect them, the newlywed wives make Roof Afza for their husband to keep them awake throughout their first night. On the other hand, Rajkummar Rao, and his friend Varun kidnaps Janhvi only to discover she is possessed by the 'chudail'. Sounds interesting right?
2. The Music
Film's music is composed by Sachin–Jigar, Navraj Hans, and Ketan Sodha. The songs have already stuck the Chord with the audiences. However, the background score of the horror movie is an important element which play the key role to set the atmosphere. It is expected that the makers have given special attention to the same.
3. Film's Cast
Rajkummar Rao is a complete artist. There is no doubt that he can essay any role with perfection. Varun Sharma as his friend is also an apt choice. However, the film's success depends on Janhvi kapoor, who plays an innocent woman and a scary spirit at the same time. Her performance can make or break the movie. However, the viewers believe Janhvi has improved a lot and it is evident in the film's trailer.
Director Hardik Mehta can be a debutante filmmaker but he already has an impressive filmography. Hardik has written films and series like Paatal Lok, Trapped, and Kaamyaab. Audience will be looking forward to his first directorial for sure.
5. Screenplay and dialogues
Screenplay and dialogues are important for every films, however, for a genre like horror-comedy this has to be top-notch for sure. The genre brings two apparently opposite cinematic styles together thus, the writers put more effort to the writing. Stree was an example of excellent writing. Hopefully, the makers has done the same for Roohi as well.
