Prashanth Neel - the man behind KGF, a mega-blockbuster across various regions in India. More than the box office success, what attracted everyone is his perfection in executing elevation scenes and fight sequences. Not just movie buffs, even the biggest of stars were impressed with his work and he is being flooded with offers. As expected Telugu heroes were smart enough to book their slots to do a film with him. Prabhas’s Salaar has already commenced its shoot, a film in the combination of Jr NTR and Prashanth has been (unofficially) announced by the producers - Mythri Movie Makers. Now, it has been reported that Allu Arjun is also set to team up with Prashanth and it will be produced under Geetha Arts production. But, what’s the hurry to work with him?
Prashanth Neel has only 2 releases as of now and he has as many as 4 films in hands with some of the biggest star heroes of South India. This craze speaks volumes of his capability as a technician. Also, the kind of films Prashanth has made till now is now the need of the hour for many star heroes to take their stardom to the next level. The mass audience are thriving for commercial entertainers amidst family entertainers, rom-coms, biopics, etc. coming their way every week.
With Radhe Shyam and Adipurush, Prabhas is kind of experimenting with his mass image. After Radhe Shyam (which is a feel-good love story), a mass hero like Prabhas definitely needs a film like Salaar which has all the elements of a commercial entertainer. Mirchi (2013) is the last commercial entertainer from Prabhas and fans would want him to display his action hero image once again before doing many more experimental pan-India films (Adipurush, Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi drama).
On the other hand, Jr NTR who is the youngest and biggest mass hero of the generation has been choosing different kinds of films off late. His fans have been waiting to witness his rage as a mass hero. Except for Aravinda Sametha’s first few minutes, we haven’t seen Tarak in a powerful action-oriented role in recent years. While RRR will take his stardom to the next level, his film with Trivikram might not be an out-and-out commercial entertainer. So, it is justified that a hero with such a mass image opts for a commercial mass film to keep his image intact.
Though Allu Arjun has scored a huge blockbuster like Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, he needs to continue his form with proper planning. He has a huge craze in North India and his next release Pushpa is expected to cash in on the craze. He has a film with Koratala Siva who is a bit of a classy director and a film with Prashant Neel next will be the perfect option.
As Prashanth Neel has proved his worth as a mass director and the Telugu star heroes are in need of a commercial mass blockbuster, Prashanth Neel is being flooded with offers. We hope he takes up these chances responsibly and delivers huge blockbusters.
