National Film Awards are the most prestigious among all film awards as it is the true validation of an artist's skill. Agreed that it is a poor cousin of its private counterparts who hold lavish ceremonies with huge monetary benefits, gloss and glamour, but getting a National Award is the proof of an actor's true worth. And imagine beating hundreds of actors from different industries to hold the coveted award! Goosebumps moment indeed!

Bagging the best actor/actress requires extensive talent. The actor should be on a different pedestal to be worthy of the award. And imagine playing a real-life person and then bagging the award! Sheer Beauty! One would need to ace the real person's mannerisms and this needs months of training and doing exhaustive homework about the person and the role. Enacting real persons are indeed emotionally, physically and mentally draining for the actors.
