In reality or on screen, father-son relationships tend to be a little complex in general. Portrayal of archetype father figures has always been there in Malayalam cinema, the dominating fathers who infuse fear in their sons and punish them heartlessly. We cannot ever forget Chacko Maash, Perunthachan or Anjooran, the iconic archetype father figures of Malayalam cinema. But there are also pops who shared a special bond with their sons, much like best friends who never hold back anything from each other. And sometimes, just as much as we fall in love with the hero, we happen to love his father also. Some malayalam movies might have a serious storyline; the father figure might not be cool or even friendly. But we heart it for the hilarious moments the father-son chemistry brought forward.

Here are 8 Malayalam films that had the funniest father-son portrayal that made us laugh hard.

The movie has NN Pillai playing the role of Anjooran, a senile and authoritative father figure who is immensely loved, feared and respected by his four sons. Light humor and situational comedies made this otherwise serious and complicated father- sons relationship a hearty one.
