Krrish To A Bhavesh Joshi: 8 Most Powerful Superheroes Of Bollywood

Bhavesh Joshi Superhero is not basically a superhero movie, but a vigilante turned hero who wants to expose the corrupt politicians. Bhavesh is avenging his friend's murder in the film and takes the highway of taking law in his hands. Harshvardhan Kapoor portrays the role of Bhavesh Joshi in the film. The film failed at the box office but the performance of the cast was highly appreciated.

The latest addition to the list of superheroes of Bollywood is A Flying Jatt. Tiger Shroff who had desired sometime back to play a superhero like his father in Shiva Ka Insaaf, finally got a break in this Remo D’Souza action comedy flick where he plays a Punjabi superhero out to save his people from some treacherous forces.

Director Anubhav Sinha got Shah Rukh Khan playing G.One in this superhero flick which was released with much fanfare. Surprisingly, Ra.One was titled after the super villain played by Arjun Rampal who is out to destroy G.One’s family. An overdose of special effects became the undoing of the film at the box-office. Talks of a sequel are on the cards.

This children’s film directed by Satyajit Bhatkal started off well but due to no big star received a thumbs down. Zokkomon was co-produced by Walt Disney Pictures which had Darsheel Safary playing the superhero who saves his friends from the treachery of Anupam Kher. This remains the only Bollywood movie where a child artiste played a superhero.

This 2008 film directed by Goldie Behl had Abhishek Bachchan playing the lead role of a superhero by the same name. Though the film had some excellent graphic visuals and production values which were a feast for the eyes, it all went in vain due to a weak script and a ‘been there seen it all’ feeling by the audiences. Even the presence of Priyanka Chopra and Jaya Bachchan couldn’t save it from sinking at the box-office.

Rakesh Roshan’s Krrish where son Hrithik Roshan played a superhero by the same name is probably the best and most successful character portrayed on screen. His act of Krrish got the kids go gaga over him whenever he appeared on screen. The special effects and picturization of action scenes made it one of the best superhero characters in Bollywood.

Veteran actor turned director Shashi Kapoor’s only directorial venture to date Ajooba was with low-cost​ production values where Amitabh Bachchan played a superhero who fights to get back his kingdom from the evil Amrish Puri. Despite having Rishi Kapoor and some Russian actors, this superhero couldn’t perform any magic at the box-office.

Probably, Bollywood’s first superhero film in the real sense, this poor remake of Hollywood’s Superman movie was unintentionally funny. Puneet Issar played the titular role where Dharmendra appeared as his father in a special appearance. Sadly, the film makers borrowed some clips from the Hollywood flick and inserted them in the desi version. One of those flicks which should be avoided at all cost.

Bollywood’s first 3D film had Jackie Shroff playing Shiva, the superhero who gets trained by three men who bestow him with some powers to save humanity and get the culprits to book. It was a takeoff on the character of Clark Kent as Shiva played a journalist by profession. Raj Sippy’s superhero flick just about managed to break even at the cash counters.
