Born on 7th April 1942 in Amritsar, Punjab, Jeetendra faced the camera for the first time as a double to Sandhya in V. Shantaram’s ‘Navrang’ (1959). He also did a blink and a miss appearance in ‘Sehra’ before V. Shantaram gave him a break in ‘Geeta Gaya Pattharon Ne’ in 1964. In a career spread over five decades and 200 movies, Jeetendra acted opposite all the leading ladies of his times and has entertained us be it the thriller ‘Farz’ or ‘Jeene Ki Raah’ in the late 60’s or the bespectacled in ‘Parichay’, ‘Khushboo’ or ‘Kinara’ in the 70’s or the 80’s where he did a whole lot of south Indian remakes with Sridevi and Jaya Pradha.
