The outbreak of the global pandemic has disrupted the release plans of several films. While some of them have opted to take the OTT route, several big stars showed reluctance to skip the theatrical release process. Energetic Star Ram Pothineni’s RED is one such film that got delayed. Finally, the film is going to hit the silver screens this Sankranti season (14th January).
In delightful news to the fans of Ram, makers have announced that RED is getting released in six other Indian languages - Marathi, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Bhojpuri, and Bengali - the latter-day of Telugu release (i.e., 15th January). At a time where the occupancy of theatres is scaled down to half, this is a big move by the makers. However, it is also a smart move, as the film can fetch some good bucks from other states, other than solely relying on the collections of Teluguland, where the competition from other Sankranti releases is on par.
RED is the official remake of Tamil hit film Thadam and has Ram playing a dual role. Kishore Tirumala directed the film, which has Malavika Sharma, Amritha Aiyer, and Nivetha Pethuraj in other lead roles.
