Telugu Actors Who Became Infamous By Driving Drunk

Navdeep was in the news for all the wrong reasons. A high-speed chase, misbehaviour & drunk driving were some of the reasons. About the drunk driving incident, at a checkpoint, Navdeep, instead of stopping, sped his vehicle. To stop it, police chased him for quite a while. After stopping him, the police found him drunk. As expected, he was booked for assault, non-cooperation and drunk driving.

Actor Nikhil was caught in the act in 2011. The actor was speeding his car & the inspector on scene became suspicious. After he was asked to stop, Nikhil was found in a intoxicated state & was immediately booked. His car was impounded & he had to a fine to get it released. He also addressed a press conference where he denounced drunken driving.

Siva Balaji was arrested in 2012 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Hyderabad. After he failed the breathalyser test, his car was seized & was asked to appear at court to answer for the offence. Due to the unwelcome media attention, the actor became frustrated & lost his cool when he was mobbed by the press at a later point of time.

Late actor Rami Reddy is one of the first actors in the recent times who was charged under drunken driving. He was arrested as a part of a anti-drunk driving programme in 2007. He was caught at Mehdipatnam & was released only after posting bail. The actor passed away in 2011 due to health problems.

Kona Venkat needs no introduction for he is there at every star studded function and ceremony. He even made a special appearance in Bruce Lee: The Fighter. In 2013, he was booked for drunk driving as he was found to have consumed alcohol beyond the permissible level. He attended a counseling session and appeared before a court.

Director, dialogue writer BVS Ravi is also in this club. After partying hard, Ravi, who also acted in some films, started his journey back home and he was intercepted by cops as a part of the routine check. Upon failing the breathalyzer test, Ravi was asked to appear before the court. Also, his license was cancelled. It's worth mentioning that director Ram Gopal Varma was also in the same car.

Raja Ravindra is a supporting actor who mostly acts in negative roles. In 2013, the actor was found to be heavily intoxicated and was promptly charged with drunken driving. Like Kona Venkat, he too attended a counselling session and settled the matter legally.

He is a relatively unknown actor. He acted in the 2014 film Rajmahal and has been active in the acting profession. After booking him for drunk driving, the actor's car, a BMW, was impounded. The alcohol content in his blood was over 70 mg. The permissible amount is 30 mg.
