Inspiring Stories Of 5 Big Tamil Stars That You Need To Learn From

Not many of us know the hardships and struggle our Kollywood stars faced to reach stardom. Though it’s common in the film industry, many actors disappear even after a massive struggle for several years. Some of them turn into a known face at some point of time but it’s only a few who reach the stardom. It’s certain that it’s pure hard work and determination that helped them to climb the steps of stardom.     Rajinikanth, most of us know that he worked as a bus conductor but there were so many hurdles he had to cross even before that! Born as Shivaji Rao Gaekwad, he is the youngest sibling of four. He lost his mother at the age of 5 and was able to complete only till high school. He worked as a coolie, carpenter and took up many odd jobs in Chennai and Bangalore to support his family. He then became a bus conductor at BTS. He realized his acting skills and joined the Madras Film Institute. This is the place where K Balachander found him and cast him for ‘Apoorva Raagangal’(1975).

    Chiyaan struggled for more than a decade to establish himself in the Kollywood. Inspired by his father, his craze for films started at the age of 12. Since then he put in all his efforts to learn karate, swimming, dancing and various other games. During his college days, he met with an accident and had to undergo 23 surgeries. He grabbed his first role with ‘En Kadhal Kanmani' but unfortunately, he happen to face continuous failures and many of his films went unnoticed. Finally ‘Sethu’ was released in 1999 which brought his acting skills to the limelight.

    Ajith has an inspiring past. He is a school dropout who did not pursue higher secondary. As he had a passion towards car and bike racing he took up the job as a two-wheeler mechanic. When he was 20, he got his first opportunity but unfortunately the director passed away in mid and the film was shelved. He played an uncredited role in ‘En Veedu En Kanavar’ (1990), his first release and luck didn’t favor him this time too. After the film released, he met with an accident and was in bed for more than one and a half years. Without losing motivation, he returned to act in more films. After few flops, he gave his first hit with ‘Aasai’ (1995).

    The happening actor of Kollywood, Vijay Sethupathi, has faced so many struggles before and after entering the film industry. Hailing from Rajapalayam, he was a below-average student in school and didn’t possess any interest in sports or extracurricular activities. Some of the low – profile jobs he ended up doing were salesman at a retail store, cashier at a fast food joint, operator at a phone booth counter, account assistant at a wholesale cement company. In 2003 he moved to Dubai and worked as an accountant to support his family. But, he soon returned to India in the same year looking out for a change. His journey in cinema began in 2004, he joined as an accountant in Koothupattarai (Chennai based theatre group), grabbed an opportunity to act in TV soaps, then moved to short films, did many uncredited roles in films, and finally ‘Pizza’ (2011) brought his acting to the limelight. After so much struggle, he has now reached the height that he truly deserves!

    To become a cop was the dream of Sivakarthikeyan but everything vanished once his dad passed away. He took up engineering and started his career as a mimicry artiste in Television. He pursued MBA with the money he received from the TV shows. During those days he also acted in a few Tamil Short Films. His performance in Vijay TV’s ‘KalakkaPovathuYaaru’ gave him some popularity and after which he hosted a number of shows in Vijay TV. He made his debut with ‘Marina’ in 2012 but the film which brought him popularity was ‘Ethir Neechal’ (2013) and now he is one of the bankable actors of Kollywood.
