Naandhi (translated as a beginning in English) is a crime thriller. Starring Allari Naresh in the lead role, the film is all set to hit the big screens tomorrow. Debutant Vijay Kanakamedala directed the film which revolves around the story of an innocent man who gets accused and jailed for a crime that he did not commit and undergoes the inhuman treatment. The film also starring Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, Priyadarshi, Harish Uthaman, and others, is produced by director Satish Vegesna who is well known for family entertainers.
Here are a few things you can expect from Naandhi.
Allari Naresh's new avatar
Naandhi showcases Allari Naresh in an off-beat and never-before-seen avatar. He plays the role of an accused who is at the receiving end of the police custodial brutality.
A glimpse of police brutality and life of undertrials in prisons
Going by the posters, teasers and trailers, it is clear that Naandhi gives a glimpse of police brutality and life of undertrials (a person who is being held in custody awaiting trial for a crime) in prisons.
Life after falsely getting accused
The film also shows how difficult things turn to lead a normal life for undertrials after getting falsely accused and jailed for a crime they haven't committed.
Varalakshmi role as Lawyer
The renowned actor Varalakshmi who is seen playing villain roles in recent Telugu films like Tenali Rama Krishna B. A. B. L, Krack, etc. is going to make an impact as a powerful lawyer who fights for justice.
Unconventional storyline by Debut director
While most debut directors opt for a try and tested formula for their debut, Vijay Kanakamedala took up an unconventional storyline that is different from the mainstream and is confident about its success.
Getting into the skin of the character
The king of comedy, who rib-tickled our funny bones with his comic capers, is now donning a more serious and intense role. Naresh also pushed his boundaries for the role and even portrayed himself nude for some crucial scenes. This is the first time an actor has gone such a mile to make his role more realistic.
Voiceless to fight against the odds
The song Idhe Naandhi is motivational and takes the side of the voiceless to fight against the odds. It is penned by Chaitanya Prasad and is crooned by Vijay Prakash. Sricharan Pakala has given the background score for the film.
