In Bollywood films, whenever injustice is meted out to women they have bounced back and got even in their own style against their opponents or whenever the system or law failed. Though there have been quite a few lady dacoits portrayed in the 70’s and 80’s by Bollywood actresses on screen but off-late we’ve seen many actresses portraying contemporary urban city girls who have fought back against all odds to come up triumphs. They no more remain mere spectators depending on men to fight for them. Female oriented script’s are in vogue where the female protagonist calls the shots in her own way. We look at some actresses who have played the city-bred female lead without the uniform and fought the antagonist or system single-handedly for justice and honour.
