On a surprise note, Rana Daggubati’s much-awaited forest drama Aranya (Haathi Mere Saathi) has postponed the release of its Hindi version because of the surging fresh cases on COVID-19 in North India. However, the Telugu and Tamil versions will have a release this Friday as scheduled.
Well, this postponement is both a boon and a bane to the makers. Owing to the increasing cases, the Maharashtra government has ordered to run theatres with 50% capacity, and even the panicked movie buffs might not show much interest to visit theatres, which might hamper the collections. Hence, postponement is a boon. However, it is also a bane as any unusual or mixed reactions to the Tamil and Telugu versions might minimize the theatrical revenue of the Hindi version later. But if the Telugu and Tamil versions exceeded the expectations, it might help the Hindi version mint the moolah.
