Telugu Movie Industry is teeming up with directors who are desperate to make a mark. One among them was Puri Jagannadh . He, who was once a commoner, became successful, as a director, against all odds. After stumbling here & there in Telugu Cinema, Puri established himself as a brand by making sure that his films stoodout from the usual genre of films that we usually watch. By doing so,he set himself apart from his peers. To cap it off, Puri Jagannadh's journey to success is quite interesting. Let's take a look how different Puri's career is from his peers.

  1. Swift Scripting

Unlike others, he doesn't take too long to write his next script. Generally, it takes months for most directors to write a script. But, this director takes 15 days to write it. What's more is that, he does the scripting at a beach in Pattaya, Thailand. The city is known for its picturesque landscape. The beauty & scenery of the city fuel his scripting process.

  2. Inspiration

For most directors, their inspirations are much more successful directors. Avatar director James Cameron was inspired by Star Wars director George Lucas's creativity & decided to become a director. Same is the case with Puri. He was inspired by Mani Ratnam & Balachander. He also regards writer Sri Sri, philosopher Osho & actor Chalam as the people who inspired him.

  3. No Compromise

Puri is known to be a man of different tastes. When it comes to his movies, he makes sure that the final output is tailored as per his tastes. One good example is the music album of 2011 film 'Nenu Naa Rakshasi'. He hired three music directors, Viswa, Anup Rubens and Rehman, for the film's music composition. This shows that he is willing to go that extra mile for audiences.

  4. His Speed

Upon his completion of Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu, most people were shocked & awed by his speed. The entire film was wrapped up in few months & he managed to make news with his pace. It's not just one-off, post CGTR, Puri has been doling out movies breathlessly ever since then. One time-saving factor is that he doesn't employ too much of Computer Generated Imagery (CGI).

  5. Puri Connects

People's interest in joining the film industry has always been perpetually high. To ensure that people have a better chance at eking out a living in Tollywood, Puri, along with actress Charmme Kaur, set up 'Puri Connects'. The company, as of 2016, is located in Jubilee Hills. Quite a noble thought, isn't it?
  6. Encouraging Creativity

How many directors are nowadays encouraging raw talent? Very few. People like Shekar Kammula are doing what they can by holding auditions. But, Puri devised a unique method. Through Sakshi, a daily newspaper, he encouraged raw talent by penning stories & asking readers to direct short films using those stories. After watching those films, Puri planned to encourage people whom he believed were talented.

One thing that viewers can definitely expect from Puri's films is punch dialogues. He makes sure that his hero's & the lead cast's lines are loaded with sarcasm. Be it his debut film 'Badri' or blockbuster 'Businessman', the lines that the heroes delivered made quite an impact on the viewers. It shows that Puri gives ample importance to dialogues.
  10. Writing Stories From A Young Age

It's well-known that Puri arose from a very humble background. His father was a munsabu, a village head, and his family had no relation with film industry. Undeterred, he started writing stories when he was in his sixth grade. His family, although they had their doubts, allowed him to pursue his passion & they were right in doing so.
