Audience often go to theatres to watch their favourite pair on the screen. The so-called hero and heroine. The hit pairs always have craze and generate huge buzz even before the film officially starts to roll out. The other combination that creates anticipation among the audience is: hero and director. If their first film is a hit, the expectations reach the sky for the next time. Just like the second film syndrome for our young directors (their second film flops after a successful debut) these combinations too can often face the similar curse.
Take, for example, Dookudu directed by Srinu Vaitla was an epic commercial entertainer and a benchmark in Mahesh Babu's career. And the teasers of Aagadu created a huge expectation among the fans and general audience so much so that even Mahesh believed that the film will bring him bigger glory as a commercial hero. But that was not the case as the film flattered to deceive under the expectations.
Similarly when Power Star Pawan Kalyan joined hands with S. J. Surya, everyone expected another Khushi but what they came up with was still a nightmare for the fans. Here we have picked up a list of such actor-director combinations which failed to repeated the magic of their first combination.
