Pan-India stardom is the new fad in the industry. From medium-range heroes to big stars, everyone is now looking forward to a pan-India release of their films to expand their market. Tollywood's sensational heartthrob Vijay Deverakonda too is smitten with this craze, and announced his next film Liger as a pan-India project, although the film was initially planned in Telugu. Dashing director Puri Jagannadh is directing the film, while Bollywood renowned producer Karan Johar is backing the film.
But unfortunately, ever since Liger was announced, it is running into one or the other issues, courtesy of the pandemic. Two months after hitting the floors, Liger shoot came to a grinding halt with the lockdown enforcement. Finally, the film resumed this year and once again the second wave hit the film shoot. Although makers announced a September release, it is still uncertain when things turn in favour of the team to resume the shoot.
With this unexpected delay, Vijay will be left with no release for nearly two years. Although he has few films in his kitty after Liger, his fad for pan-India stardom has cost him a gap in his career. But, this has not waned his stardom, in fact, it is only growing bigger and bigger.
