What’s feared has finally become a reality for Prabhas fans. Even as his career is reaching stratospheric heights, the involvement of Bollywood stars in his films are observed with an eagle eye by his fans. Deepika Padukone who has been roped in to play the female lead in the most prestigious project in the direction of Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies is now mired in drugs related scandal. What’s more, she her statement accusing her manager - to ‘leak her convos’ didn’t go well with the netizens.

She had already rubbed the wrong side of majority of people for taking money supporting the JNU agitations when promoting Chhapaak. Even if she comes out of this drugs issue without trouble, it remains a blot on her and the films involving her will be affected. We have already seen how Sadak 2 was pushed to record lows for being a Nepotism-film and even the well made and well acted Gunjan Saxena failing on OTT release for similar reason.

Controversies may sometimes do good but these days, certain actresses and their self-contradictory statements are doing more bad than good to the films they involved with. We have seen Samantha’s Deeply Disgusting comments harmed Oh Baby. Despite receiving great reviews and initially people flocking to theatres, the movie failed to garner bigger box office numbers because of her comments.

Her, and Chinmayi’s comments on age-difference between star heroes and the actresses backfired disastrously when Nagarajuna’s Manmadhudu 2 released. People pointed fingers at Sam and Chinmayi for keeping silent for their own film (the director is Chinmayi’s husband Rahul Ravindran). So, if anything fans want controversial actresses being removed from projects. We may expect the same from Prabhas’s movie team of Deepika’s name is deeply involved in drug scandal.
