Tollywood industry is one of the biggest in Indian cinema producing around 250 films every year. All the big budgeted films arrive with a lot of buzz but some live up to it and some disappear without a trace. In Tollywood industry, most of the time, it’s only the star heroes who create or rewrite the records that are existing. The first day and the first week collections decide the fate of the movie.
 
If the movie performs well in the first week the producers are almost safe, at least won’t have to face losses. Every week the list of highest first week collections in Telugu cinema keep altering, but here we bring to you those figures which have now become remarkable.   1. Maharshi First Week Collections

    Superstar Mahesh Babu and Pooja Hegde starrer Maharshi mark the silver jubilee film of Mahesh. Helmed by Vamsi Paidipally, this socio-drama has won accolades from all quarters for bringing the innovative concept like weekend agriculture and the plight of farmers to the limelight. It has taken the box office by storm in the Teluguland and the summer vacation with no competition from other big-ticket films turned out to be an icing on the cake for the film. By the end of the first week, Maharshi grossed 122.91 Cr at the WW box office with a WW distributor share of 76 Cr.

  2. Baahubali - The Conclusion First Week Collections

    SS Rajamouli's second part of the epic brothers tale, 'Baahubali' released amidst huge expectations and it hit the bull's eye. With super positive response pouring in right from the first show, the movie attained tremondous success. It grossed a whopping Rs. 509 Cr. in its first weekend with a share of Rs. 270 Cr. in all its versions. A proud moment for the Telugu film makers indeed!

    Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali: the beginning’ was the biggest blockbuster of 2015 in Indian cinema. The movie not only received acclaims from the critics but also collected a staggering amount at the box office. ‘Baahubali’ opened at the box office with an astounding amount of 75 cr on the first day of its release. By the end of the first week, the movie collected 255 cr which is the highest collection in Tollywood. The total collection of the movie is 602 cr which is the biggest grosser ever in south Indian cinema.

  4. Aravinda Sametha First Week Collections

    Jr NTR and Pooja Hegde starrer Aravinda Sametha opened to a massive response from the audience. Thanks to the Holiday season and the most awaited combination of Tarak and Trivikram, the film managed to collect huge numbers in its first week. Aravinda Sametha collected a gross amount of Rs. 134 crores with a distributor share of Rs. 82 crores in the first week of its theatrical run. The film stood as the top 4th position of 1st-week grossers of Tollywood.

  5. Rangasthalam First Week Collections

    Ram Charan and Samantha starrer Rangasthalam opened to a super positive response from both critics and the audience. The movie collected a whopping gross of Rs. 43 crores on its opening day and it maintained steady collections for the entire first week. By the end of its first week run in the theatres, Rangasthalam collected a gross of Rs. 127 crores with a share of nearly Rs. 80 crores. Rangasthalam now holds the Non - Baahubali record by beating Khaidi No 150.

  6. Bharat Ane Nenu First Week Collections

    Mahesh Babu's political drama Bharat Ane Nenu was the first big blockbuster of summer season 2018. The hype surrounding the film because of Srimanthudu combination getting repeated made the film get a  good opening at the box office. Bharat Ane Nenu grossed Rs. 117 crores while the distributor share stands at Rs. 72 crores.

    Tarak's triple role drama Jai Lava Kusa opened to stupendous response and managed to rake in a gross of Rs. 90 Cr in its first weekend with a distributor share of Rs. 54 Cr. This has managed to climb to the top second grosser in NTR Jr.'s career and collected a gross of Rs. 125 crores by the end of its theatrical run.

    Pawan Kalyan's Katamarayudu which is the remake of super hit Tamil movie Veeram released on the occasion of Ugadi in 2017. The movie opened to below average reports from the audience on its first day. Thanks to the star power of Pawan Kalyan, the movie managed to gross above Rs. 86 crores in the first week.

    After a gap of almost 5 years, Pawan Kalyan and Trivikram Srinivas have united after their industry hit movie Attarintiki Daredi. Due to their successful track record, Agnyaathavaasi registered non-baahubali record collections on its first day but couldn't collect good amounts in its first week. The movie received a negative feedback from the movie lovers right from the day and managed only to collect a gross of Rs. 88 crores by the end of first week.

    ‘Sardar Gabbar Singh’ started off with a bang collecting 40 cr on the first day. By the end of the first week the movie had collected 73 cr, worldwide. After a week of its theatrical run the collections declined rapidly and by the end of its theatrical run the movie had collected 83 cr worldwide.

    Pawan Kalyan starrer ‘Attarintiki Daredi’ collected the highest amount at the box office and became all time highest grosser of 2013. The movie opened with the collections of 10 Cr on the first day and collected 47 cr by the end of the first week. The total worldwide collection of the movie by the end of its theatrical release was 75 cr.
  20. Nannaku Prematho (2016)

    ‘Nannakau Prematho’ is the biggest hit in NTR Jr.'s career which was directed by Sukumar. The movie opened at the box office with 24.4 cr and collected 43 cr by the end of its 7th day run. By the end of the theatrical run the movie had collected 87 cr worldwide.
  21. Yevadu (2014)

    ‘Yevadu’ had a fantastic start with 8.65 cr on the first day at the box office. The Ram Charan starrer, after receiving positive reviews from the critics had collected 36 cr in the 7-day run. The lifetime collection of the movie is 47 cr.​
  22. Govindudu Andarivadele (2014)

    Upon its release, the movie created a record in Tollywood by collecting 8.55 cr on the first day. The first week run of the movie also went quite well and it had collected 27.5 cr by the end of 7 days. The movie ran about a month in theatres and finally collected 41.5 cr, worldwide.
