Big Fat Bengali Celebrity Weddings Of This Year

Bengal’s film fraternity witnessed the most happening wedding of the year when filmmaker Raj Chakraborty put the garland on actress Subhashree Ganguly. After being in an on and off relationship for almost a year, the duo said I do in a big fat wedding at Bawali Rajbari on May 11. The marriage was followed by a star-studded reception.

Mithun Chakraborty’s son Mahaakshay Chakraborty tied knot with Madalsa Sharma on July 10^th in his father’s posh hotel in Ooty after their wedding was intervened by the police on 7^th July. A woman filed a cheating and rape case against Mahakshay. He walked the aisle in the same venue after getting anticipatory bail.

Director Raja Chanda got hitched with television and film actress Piyan Sarkar on November 26^th in a traditional Bengali wedding ceremony in the presence of the close relatives. The duo met Piyan during a glam hunt contest.

Bengali actress Shweta Basu Prasad walked down the aisle with his long time beau Rohit Mittal on December 13^th. Theirs was a traditional Bengali wedding where Shweta looked a beautiful Bengali bride in a Benarasi sari and gold jewelries. Shweta became popular as a television actress and later appeared on the acclaimed films like Makdee and Iqbal. She played a key role in Mithun Chakraborty starrer Bengali film Ek Nadir Galpo.

Maa fame television actress Mahua Halder got married to her costar Aritra Dutta at a private ceremony on 16^th December. She has appeared in multiple movies including Ek Phali Rod, Nayikar Moto, and Ye Mothers. Aritra is also a known face of television.
