After covering more than 500 films in just a shade under a year and for 50 weeks, we have launched the 2nd season of Pycker India's Best Movie of the Week. Not just limited to a single language, here we are presenting India's Best Movie Of The Week, which singles out the one best movie Indian Cinema has to offer every week.
We have rebooted how we present the content without losing the familiarity. Now, apart from the Bengali Cinema and Bollywood, we consider all the four major South Indian Cinemas (Tollywood, Kollywood, Mollywood, and Sandalwood).
Before the storm of Dipavali (or Diwali) releases, once again Week 42 of 2019 has experienced a dry week. That is, there are no major films that created a buzz among the audience. To some extent, Saif Ali Khan starrer Laal Kaptaan is a notable film. But there is no trending of the film at all.
So, without further ado, welcoming Sandalwood into our family of cinemas, let's jump into the table to check the details of all the major releases this week.

India's best Movie of the Week
Among all the 7 major releases, all except Gantumoote received either mixed or negative reviews. Telugu film Operation Gold Fish is panned by every major critic and Ohmkar's Raju Gari Gadhi 3 is labeled a timepass entertainer without much new to offer. No releases in Tamil and Bengali. Mollywood has two releases. While Tovino Thomas' Edakkad Battalion 06 received negative reviews, acclaimed filmmaker Jayaraj's Roudram is grossly ignored.
That brings us to two Kannada films Bharaate and Gantumoote. Bharaate is a typical masala film and is said to cater to the target audience but it is the Roopa Rao directorial Gantumoote which won the appreciation of one and all.
It tells the story of a young girl who falls in love with a boy in her school after dreaming of having a lover like Salman khan's Prem in Hum Aapke Hai Kaun. But this is life and it's not always rosy. Gantumoote is a bittersweet coming of age film set in the 1990s and inducing nostalgia. Sincere filmmaking and some strong performances make us say...
Gantumoote is Pycker India's Best Movie of the Week.
Give a big hand to Roopa Rao and her team which includes Teju Belawadi and Nischith Korodi.
