2018 has seen many new talents to the entire the industry while several veteran actors have bidden adieu the industry forever. These are the stars that have passed away this year leaving their works and memories in the hearts of the audience. Not only the renowned celebrities, who have made a mark, some young talents died making the entire Bengal mourn on their death. Here is the list of the loving celebs who left this world this year.

  • Ava Mukherjee

    Actress Ava Mukherjee, who became a known face to national audience for her appearances in multiple TV commercials, passed away this year on January 15th at the age of 88. The actress debuted with Bengali film ram Dhakka but disappeared from the screen after that. Mukherjee played a pivotal role in Devdas (2002).

  • Supriya Devi

    Noted Bengali actress Supriya Devi breathe her last on 26th January, 2018 at the age of 83. The Padma Shri winner died in her house after a prolonged illness. She was cremated with full state honours given by the West Bengal government.

  • Lolita Chatterjee

    Veteran actress Lolita Chatterjee passed away at the age of 81. She suffered a cerebral stroke and was rushed to a nursing home. Chatterjee started her career as a child actress and later went on to play the female lead opposite legendary Uttam Kumar in Bibhas. She has also worked in Bollywood. Lolita Chatterjee had been a part of Asche Abar Shabor in 2018.

  • Biplabketan Chakraborty

    Bengal’s noted stage actor Biplabketan Chakraborty died on 30th November, 2018 at the age of 72 at his residence in Dhakuria. The veteran actor was suffering from liver disease for long. He is survived by his dancer wife Dipali Chakraborty and actress daughters Sudipta Chakraborty, Bidipta Chakraborty and dancer Bidisha Chakraborty.

  • Payel Chakraborty

    Budding television and film actress Payel Chakraborty died on 5th September, 2018. The 36-years-old was found dead in her hotel room in Siliguri. Payel was supposed to leave for Gangtok from the same hotel. She was suffering from depression.
